Dan's Memorial Service   ::   Saturday, January 19, 2002

The memorial service for Dan was held at Horizon Christian Fellowship, about three blocks from Siskowic's church, Clairemont Covenant Church. Over 1,000 people including family, friends attended the service. Dan touched a lot of people's lives.
         The service itself began with a keyboard prelude (some of Dan's favorite classical music) by Steve Saye and Sarah Davis (a young family friend and gifted musician whose talent Dan greatly admired) from Dan's church and Carl Eitzen (Liz's second cousin), trumpet, played the Lord's Prayer.
         Three praise songs were sung: "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever", "Sweet Mercies", and "Stand In Awe", scripture readings were read and prayer was offered by the co-paster of Clairemont Covenant Church.
         Memories of Dan's life were shared by Cameron Siskowic, Phil Huffman and Jeff Jones, two of Dan's good friends, followed by special music, "He's Always There".
         The message was given by Pastor Lyle Heintz and was followed by two more praise songs and the benediction.
         Everyone at the memorial service was invited to a reception on the Berkeley Ferry Maritime Museum on Harbor Drive near the Star of India. About 500 attended.
         Family and friends gathered at Liz's house after the reception.
